Year in Review 2011: This year Octofoil Records released an amazing EP from Keef Baker's powernoise side project Sharps Injury, titled "Back from the Dead." Maduro released the introspective and Chinese-influenced break beat "Chasing Dragons" and several videos were comissioned - one from Colin Weiss who filmed "From the Pit" in Vietnam. Maduro also released "Black Magic Kingdom" on Halloween, which was recorded over the summer from captured audio in New Orleans. "Black Magic Kingdom" was later released with a limited edition hand-painted thumbdrive. Octofoil records contributed over $1,200 to building a girl's school in Cambodia, licensed numerous tracks for DVDs, and made the annual appearance at Spellbound's Freak Bazaar. The year ended with Teleoptyk (a Maduro industrial side project) releasing the "Krampus" EP. Octofoil Records plans to continue releasing new material in 2012 from the likes of Teleoptyk and others.

It's been awhile since our last update. In Spring 2011 Octofoil Records donated over $1,200 to a Fund to build schools for disadvantaged Cambodian school girls. We have had numerous DVD licensing requests this summer, while Maduro recorded the framework for his new forthcoming release "Black Magic Kingdom" on the streets and in the bars of New Orleans. This album will be released Fall 2011. Drop by for updates.
Maduro's forthcoming full-length digital release "Black Magic Kingdom" is a concept album highlighting the American occult tradition in the context of New Orleans voodoo, magic, and spiritual totems. It is a gothic cacophony of distorted breakbeats, voodoo rhythms, vocal chanting, hip hop and industrial progressions, street-sampled tarot readings, jazz brass stabs and ragtime piano bursts. The album was spawned from field recordings in the New Orleans French Quarter in the summer of 2011 and conjures dreams of hidden rituals, funeral dirges and speakeasy cabarets. Like Maduro's previous release "Fin de Siecle" (or end of the century in French), "Black Magic Kingdom" is sample-driven and raw.

Year in Review: In 2010 Octofoil Records released Maduro's Reveries full length CD, Servitor Sanctum 7's full length The Marriage of Earth & Iron, we finally released
limited edition T-shirts and Tanks, and also released two digital releases - Luminous Dials' Occultation and Maduro's EP Kalika. Vending occurred at multiple
goth/industrial clubs and dance events around the US. Maduro was reviewed by German Magazine Hagalla, Octofoil Records signed Keef Baker's side project Sharps Injury,
distribution increased to multiple European channels, and Octofoil announced it's first Music Grant Program, gifting financial awards to two applicants. Servitor
Sanctum played with Caustic and Prometheus Burning and Retrogramme opened for Faith and the Muse, and Darkened's track "Swept" appeared on Kami Liddle's compilation
Tribal Beats 2: Music for the Strange & Beautiful . For 2011, look for another successful year with new releases by Sharps Injury and Maduro.

Octofoil Records is proud to announce the latest addition to its roster - Sharps Injury. Sharps Injury's latest endeavor Back from the Dead (OCT17) will
be released digitally on January 10th 2011; it will be available for digital download only and from most renowned digital download services (iTunes, emusic,
Amazon, Zune, Napster, etc).
Sharps Injury is a side project of Keef Baker the IDM, post-rock and electronica veteran with releases on such stables as Hymen, Ad Noiseam and n5MD and a stream
of gigs ranging from Greece to California. He has appeared beside countless other artists like Bitcrush, Funckarma, Proem, Snog, Architect and Dalek just to name
a few and remixed numerous artists like Klangstabil, Displacer and Diskonekted, again, just to name some. However, Sharps Injury shows a different side of Keef Baker.
Where Keef Baker is about intricacy, change and melodic complexity, Sharps Injury is much more base. Sharps Injury mixes calculated rhythmic powernoise with dark sonic
ambient architecture. After a long break following the 2004 EP (I Told my Girlfriend this was a 12") Keef Baker as Sharps Injury returns with another sonic assault
with his latest endeavor (Back From the Dead EP) a release full of rage and rhythm (on Dancefloor tracks like Chopsmacker and Medibot) and seething contempt (on the
nearly impossible to follow "falling down stairs" tempo of The Krotons and the distaste for structure shown on The Dominators).

Year in Review: 2009 was the second year in business for Octofoil Records - and business was very good. The year started off with vending at
Exposure with other local DC industrial/experimental record labels. Octofoil rereleased digitally Maduro's two albums from Eventide Music Productions
- Shimmer Sustain and Juno Wakes. Vending followed in Georgia, California, and Pennsylvania for dance festivals and at DC's industrial dance club
Spellbound. The Maduro & Notecrusher collaborative worldtronic
meets dubstep album "Your Devices" was released to international acclaim, being featured by DJ Pathaan on BBC Asian Radio. Octofoil released the Maduro dark dubstep side
project - Darkened "Flipside." Out of the local DC metro area industrial electronic rock scene, Octofoil signed Retrogramme and released their stellar EP "Seasons of
Scars" which has already appeared on BBC Radio as well. In addition to Retrogramme, Octofoil Records signed Eric Beam's primal percussive analog sound project "Rhythm in
Mind" and released "Flow" digitally on itunes, emusic, amazon, and rhapsody - this release has been much anticipated by dancers and sound enthusiasts
alike for some time.
For 2010, look for a Servitor Sanctum 7 signing and release. We are incredibly impressed with their demo of afro-industrial tribal stompy goodness,
which (like Rhythm in Mind) mixes live drumming with industrial programming. Our friends from Shakra Dance turned us on to these guys - simply amazing
and fresh! Also look for a new untitled Maduro full length album in the Spring and multitudes of experimental electronic efforts, more vending, and
more merchandise. We continue to support independent artists and projects that embody integrity and concurrently push boundaries.

major digital download sites as preview of what's to come.
DARKENED's full-length debut album Flipside is now available on CD, iTunes, Amazon MP3, eMusic, and other major
digital download sites. Flipside (OCT09) is an excursion into the dark realm of dubstep, tribal beats, and 1920s Berlin. It blends glitchy
junkyard, African and voodoo beats, German brass cabaret, and found sounds.
RETROGRAMME has officially signed with Octofoil Records! Look for their new upcoming dark industrial electronic rock EP Season of Scars
in the coming months on Octofoil Records. RETROGRAMME is a Washington DC area electronic music act whose 2008 debut album cultivated a underground buzz
in the area with its beautiful atmospherics and considerably wide-range of electronic progressions from industrial rock to ambient soundscapes. Rob Early,
the principal synthesist and programmer, and Nikk Allen, the primary songwriter, have a musicianship similar to that of New Order, Underworld, and classic
live electronic acts. This is not another laptop act but a band blending tight programming with live instruments spanning genres from industrial to aggressive
pop.

Year in Review: Octofoil Records has had a great year. The label launched, we moved a lot of product, releasing four wonderful releases
spanning several genres - from industrial/powernoise, electro-pop, dark world fusion electronica, to period music electronica fusing
breakbeats with phonographs from the 19th century. Representing Octofoil, Maduro played live last May in California before several hundred,
and his work was showcased in renowned world/electronic label Six Degrees Record's
Global Noize Blog. His work also appeared on compilations with Venetian Snares and Amon Tobin.
Distribution became global quickly
and Octofoil releases were spun around the world, appearing on numerous DVDs and documentaries.
For 2009, Octofoil will unveil newly signed DC area dubstep artist Darkened, a split Maduro/Notecrusher full length tribal
dubstep-worldtronic release, and a much anticipated Luminous Dials full length. Also, the label will be showcased at DC area label events,
limited edition merchandise will be available, and we will also start vending at select venues. Octofoil Records maintains a desire to continue releasing limited edition, dark electronica in
an eco-friendly manner, using recycled cardboard packaging when possible. Thanks to all those who have made our first
year memorable and successful.

of the century. Fin de Siècle is a degenerative audio snapshot capturing 100 year-old band sounds, carnival and circus progressions, broken
organ grinders, as well as fragmented beats, dubstep, and hip hop accents.
